The Office of the Director at the NIH has announced a new series of High-Risk High-Reward research grants. Among those funded, the Spitzer lab recevied one of the Director's Early Independnce Awards to support our efforts to understand how cancer development impacts the immune system, with the goal of identifying elements of the immune system that are optimal for targeting by cancer immunotherapies.
